Stuck In Time

timeTeaching how to tell time to kids can be a real challenge as telling time can be confusing and tricky at times 🙂

I mean, real tricky.

Teaching Ideas While You Bake

a_good_idea.png (284×270)I have shared my chocolate muffins recipe and also my carrot cake recipe recently. And I have told you earlier that baking chocolate muffins was the activity I planned to carry out with my eight years old as he was getting bored the other day.

Video as a replacement to Textbook?

training_icon.png (280×266)Taking my online class last Wednesday night on Moodle, I just could not marvel at the facilities I am provided with. Yes, these are from home, I can adjust and watch them at whatever timings suit me and so and so. Everyone knows the wonders of studying and working from home.

But, considering the same thing for my kids, I was thinking whether it was an appropriate idea to replace videos and online audio classes with textbooks?

They provide pictures and live streaming and that will provide a practical approach to learning. The recording of the class will be available again and again and again! You can play and show the video several times if the kids did not understand anything or have forgotten any part of the lecture. They felt lazy to take notes? They don’t remember what assignment they were supposed to submit? When was the due date? Oh come on, you would just say, open up and watch the file again. Continue reading

The way we walk and talk, what we see around us, what we hear, are all implications of science in one way or the other. Teaching Science to kids can be easy yet challenging for science encompasses lots and lots of topics and categories.

As children grow, they take much interest in the surrounding around themselves. So do they in the work activities their elders are doing. They want to imitate them and try to learn more about those activities. There are many ways you can teach scientific rules and the ways of nature to your kids at home. Continue reading
